ISF Touring Company Touring Co of ISU students focused on civic engagement with BloNo. Initiated in 2013 as the MFA class in association with the Illinois Shakespeare Festival

The Illinois Shakespeare Festival has teamed up with Illinois State University School of Theatre and Dance to bring you an exciting, interactive, and theatrical approach to Shakespeare! Nine actors from the department’s acting program play nearly all the roles in 45-minute abridgments of ROMEO & JULIET and A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM that adapts to any space and every audience. The creation of the t

roupe was the brain-child of Illinois Shakespeare Festival’s artistic director Kevin rich back in 2013 in tandem with the M.F.A acting program to include a focus on civic engagement. Now, the talented undergraduate actors of ISU have taken it under their wing, travelling across Illinois, Indiana and wherever else the winds may blow them in the future. Performing an abridgement of Shakespeare’s classics, visiting school, prisons, and community centers, they have reached over 5,000 audience members and counting! Bard in a Box returns all digital like!

Director Britannia Howe has assembled the following cast for our spring 2021 non-touring touring production of "Romeo and Juliet"! They are in rehearsal now preparing for a recording session so that their work can be shared with area high school students.
