In honor of International Black Womens History Month we wanted to highlight the newest member of the Push Comedy Theater Diversity Council, Launa!
She has been working tirelessly, on and off the stage, for the last few months as a member of Diversity Council to achieve our vision of providing artists from marginalized groups the opportunity to perform and see themselves represented on stage.
Launa is an actress, writer, improviser, and producer who believes comedy should reflect the world we actually live in. As co-founder of Lemon Pepper & Sazón Comedy, she creates bold, culturally rooted sketch and improv that amplifies voices often left out of the spotlight.
Trained at Push Comedy Theater, The Actor’s Place, Studio Center, and the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York and Los Angeles, Launa is committed to building spaces where artists of all identities feel welcomed, valued, and creatively free.
As a member of the Push Comedy Theater Diversity Council, she is excited to help cultivate intentional inclusion, meaningful representation, and community-centered growth within the theater.
Launa is currently in production for the International Black Womens History Month diversity jam, Unscripted & Unbothered: Black, Booked, & Brilliant, on April 17th at 8:00 PM at Push Comedy Theater! Be on the lookout for tickets on sale soon 🎟️🎟️🎟️
