Happy World Doll Day! Meet our newest doll, Gloria. She is a one-of-a-kind prototype by artist Doug James and her unique details are everything. We're thrilled to have a home for her in our collection!

Stay tuned as our new doll galleries take shape at barryartmuseum.odu.edu/expansion.

We were thrilled to give our colleagues from Vero Beach Museum of Art in Florida a behind-the-scenes hard hat tour of the Museum ahead of their own expansion project, which is set to be completed in 2028. From comparing notes on storage to "oohing and aahing" about new terrazzo, it is always a pleasure to meet with our counterparts from such incredible institutions.

Join us November 6th and 7th for Helios, our 6th Annual Public Arts Festival at Old Dominion University! ☀️✨️

This year's festival will welcome back Luke Jerram, the artist behind the Museum of the Moon and Mars artworks featured at the 1st and 2nd Public Arts Festivals in 2021 and 2022. His newest piece is an inflatable sculpture of the Sun at a scale of 1:200 million, entitled ☀️Helios☀️, and it will be making its first appearance in North America at the Barry Art Museum!

As always, the festival is FREE, family-friendly, and open to all. Mark your calendars to enjoy live performances, hands-on activities, food trucks, a vendor market, and more!
