CBC is an intense three week long pre-professional training program for aspiring theater and musical theater ages 10-18 presented by The Governor's School for the Arts and Virginia Musical Theatre.

Wow!! We are so humbled by the overwhelming response to the Early Bird promotion. We don't advertise at all and at least 15 of the new young artists registered were referrals from veteran CBC families!!

Please register as soon as you are able to reserve your spot. If you are unable to do the full amount, there is a payment option and you can secure your spot by making the 1st payment in the installment plan.

Congratulations, Sean Dugan! 🎉

We’re thrilled to celebrate Sean Dugan, winner of the BroadwayWorld Central Virginia Award for Best Director of a Play for Almost, Maine with The Governor’s School for Arts.

Sean’s direction of Almost Maine marries the use of physical comedy to bring humor with compelling direction that brings poignancy to the more serious moments keeping the audience engaged and invested.

Sean Dugan has been a Resident Acting Teacher for CBC since our inaugural year in 2019!!!

Congratulations, Angela Brown! 🎉

We’re thrilled to celebrate Angela Brown, winner of the BroadwayWorld Central Virginia Award for Best Choreography of a Play or Musical for FOOTLOOSE with Virginia Musical Theatre (a co production with The Governor’s School for the Arts).

Her high-energy choreography brought Footloose to life and had the audiences on their feet. We’re so proud to have her as our Artistic Director this year! Angela Brown has been the Dance Director for CBC since our inaugural year in 2019!!!
