Thank you all so much for showing up for our Grand ReOpening this past Sunday. We knew to expect a crowd, but we were just shocked by how many people came to shop! We had well over three hundred customers making it our busiest shopping day ever. We were particularly pleased by the diversity of the crowd. Literally every single kind of person was represented. I think we’re still recovering from the intensity of it all. It was raining, the parking lot was full, the streets were flooded, then the power faltered, and around 3pm it went out completely for over an hour, but y’all just kept shopping with flashlights. And you waited, very patiently, for me to check you out on my phone. Thank you so much for bearing with us through all the excitement.
We also want to extend a huge thank you to all of our partners who came out to help us celebrate. The Weavers Guild of Tidewater did hands-on weaving demonstrations throughout the day, the Chrysler Museum & Glass Studio and the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art did crafts with the crowd, Hampton Roads Chapter - Punk Rock Saves Lives swabbed folks for a bone marrow registry and handed out harm reduction supplies, HR Repro Justice League tabled and gave away supplies, Keep Norfolk Beautiful donated a trash can which was painted by Heidi Joy of Industry of Human Connection🦋 and all of you all helped, and More Amor Bakery 💕, BPSB 🍪The Plant-Based Brothers and Paris Williams provided us with snacks and drinks all day! I hope I remembered everyone!

New Sign Who Dis? Thank you Ashley Carson ♾ Hand Painted Signs, it's perfect. Can't wait until both signs are up!
If you're a person who likes to know where you're going before you head out, flip through the other slides for tips on how to get here.
1. If you're going North (towards Larchmont) on Colley, it'll look like this. You'll see Jollity & Co on the corner, turn right and then left into the parking lot behind the building. The main entrance is from the parking lot.
2. If you're coming out of Colonial Place heading West (toward ODU) on Virginia Ave/42nd street, it'll look like this. Turn right into the parking lot from 42nd. Please note, that if we are experiencing higher than normal tides or there has been a lot of rain, this might be flooded, do not attempt to drive through flooded streets. Turn around and take Gosnold, turn right on 38th street, then right on Colley and you'll be approaching from view 1.
3. If you're heading East (toward Colonial Place) on 42nd street, it'll look like this. Go straight through the intersection and then left into the parking lot behind the building.
4. If you're heading South (toward Ghent) on Colley Ave, it'll look like this. If you're on foot you can come through the Community Garden to reach the main entrance at the back. If you're driving turn left on 42nd street then left again into the parking lot. Please note there is no left turn on 42nd between 4pm and 6pm. Go to 41st and do three rights to make a left.
5. Last slide is the Community Garden. We've got it planted up with some fall veggies now. The lettuce is about to bolt because it's been so warm, but we can get some more in. The cabbages, kale and collards will keep growing until/unless we get a hard freeze. We've got a bunch of root veggies in the ground too. This is where you'll find our community partners on Grand ReOpening day, Sunday, October 4th from 12-6. See y'all there. ...

We’re so excited to see you all at our Grand ReOpening this Sunday, October 4th from 12-6! In our Community Garden you’ll be able to visit with our friends from Melt Mobile Glass, The Chrysler Museum, HRRJL, Punk Rock Saves Lives, High Joy Love and Solstice Hybrid Academy. The Weaver’s Guild of Tidewater will be set up inside with looms and information about the guild. Our boutique artists will also be in their boutiques to chat about their creations. And of course, you’ll finally be able to shop for all the best second hand arts and crafts supplies!
After you’ve stopped by here, make sure to walk over to the Colonial Place/Riverview Front Porch Art Walk, where resident artists and makers sell their work on their porch or in their yard. It’s a great way to support local artists and meet some great people.
Our Grand ReOpening will happen rain or shine but the lineup of participating organizations may change with bad weather. There is free street parking available on Colley Avenue and you can access our parking lot via 42nd street. If our lot is full we suggest parking on Mayflower Ave between Virginia and Georgia as there are no houses that face those blocks. (See parking areas indicated in hot pink on the map) Also, we’ve been experiencing some tidal flooding here in Norfolk. We’re on Knitting Mill Creek and high tide may breach Mayflower Ave at the intersection of Mayflower and 42nd st, if it’s also raining, flooding will be worse. Do not attempt to drive through flooded streets and intersections, the water is frequently a lot deeper than you think. We’ve seen two cars stall out trying to drive through the intersection. Low tide will be at 11:30 and high tide will be at 4:45. Plan accordingly and be safe!

For folks who've been wondering "what's the flooding situation at the new place?" This is high tide with moderate flooding. Some of the parking lot is under water as is the intersection at Mayflower and 42nd St/Virginia Ave. If you're visiting us and there is tidal flooding, approach from Colley Ave, you'll still be able to get into the parking lot from 42nd Street. Do not attempt to drive through flooded streets, a car died in that intersection yesterday. Stay tuned next week for more information about our grand reopening, Sunday, October 4th from 12-6....

We are opening donations again this weekend: Friday, September 11 & Saturday, September 12 from 10am-4pm and Sunday, September 13 from 12pm-4pm. Donations are by appointment ONLY. You can schedule your appointment on our website, using this link (https://book.squareup.com/appointments/g6txt7dzkt1b6x/location/LT3E2P7256J4T/services), or by calling 757-937-3821.

Our address is 4210B Colley Ave, Norfolk, VA 23508. Our main entrance is at the rear of the building, so park in the lot behind the building, accessible from 42nd street. We’ll have some carts outside if it isn’t raining. If you need assistance unloading your car, just pop in and ask for help. Please note that we are not open for shopping quite yet, we’re only accepting donations at this time.

Hey Friends!
It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for! We’re thrilled to announce that our Grand ReOpening is scheduled for Sunday, October 4th from 12-6 to coincide with the Colonial Place and Riverview Front Porch Art Walk! This is an event that you won’t want to miss. Stroll through the beautiful CPRV neighborhood, meet local artists and then continue along Mayflower and you’ll find us right on the other side of Knitting Mill Creek. We’ll have our new signage up and you literally won’t be able to miss us. We’ll have more details about our event as we continue planning. Mark your calendars, we can’t wait to see you!
Donations Update
We seriously cannot thank you enough for holding on to your donations all summer and then showing up these past few weeks! Y’all are the best community ever. We’ve received FOUR THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED AND NINETY FIVE pounds of donations and our shelves are filling up fast. We’re currently working to process all the lovely arts and crafts supplies y’all brought us, it’s been so much fun opening boxes and finding so many treasures inside. We’ll open up more donation appointments once we’re through with this pile, stay tuned for updates. ...
