Today is National Indigenous Peoples' Day. The Virginia Symphony Orchestra acknowledges that we work and perform on the lands of the indigenous peoples of the Chesapeake, Lumbee, Kecoughtan, and Nansemond Tribes and pay our respects to their tribal members past and present.

Our Administrative and Box Offices are closed today in observance. They will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday October 13, 2026.

Last year, we had the privilege of opening the Virginia Symphony Orchestra's 25/26 season with transcendent performances of Anna Clyne's Cello Concerto, DANCE, featuring renowned cellist, Jan Vogler .

Reminisce and enjoy the concerto's first movement, ....when you're broken open, with Jan, the VSO, and Music Director Eric Jacobsen .

PARKING INFORMATION FOR CommUNITY 🚗🎶
Parking is available in main lots behind and in front of BTWHS, indicated in the orange rectangles in the map. Entrances are located on Princess Anne Blvd.

Patrons may park in the bus lane on the right-hand side for the concert, indicated in blue.

There is also free Street parking, indicated in pink, on the streets surrounding BTWHS, including:
Marshall Ave., Reservoir Ave., Maltby Ave., Hanson Ave., Shipp Ave., and Booth St.

There are no shuttles available for this concert. Carpooling is highly encouraged! Patrons may also drop off family and friends in the carpool drop off lane at the front of the school before going to find parking.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last month for Rhythms of Resilience for a jubilant celebration of the contributions of African American composers. With Principal Guest Conductor Thomas Wilikins, soloist Symone Harcum, and the AMC250 Unity Chorale directed by Terry Butler, it was a beautiful night of music shared by all.
