Only 23 more days… we thought we would share the story of the Sonneborn house for those of you who are new or haven’t heard it before
And for those who ask, yes this is a true story. Our family has been around the house getting ready for the trail and even more creepy stuff has happened these past few weeks. Come visit if you dare
When LeRoy Ruppert was a young boy, he remembers going into the Sonneborn House to see his grandfather. His daughter Lena Sonneborn, LeRoy’s Great Aunt, was never married and lived alone in that house her whole life.
Lena never allowed anyone on the property and kept a double barrel shot gun next to her door if anyone tried to step foot on it. She even kept her mailbox locked so no one could look inside to see if she had grabbed her mail or not. The way she survived was she had a boy come every two weeks to bring her groceries. She left the list and money on the front porch and made him drop them on the porch and leave. After she died they found her two weeks later. She was on the floor and her dog was dead on the bed. It is believed she died from heartache after her dog passed away. When they looked through her stuff after she passed away, they found jars of human teeth in her house and bathhouse. But that’s not all. They also found items that could be used for Dark Magic and Spell books on how to curse people. The one thing that was never found after her death was her shotgun.
Years later when two people went to take stuff into the house they heard Lena’s voice saying, “Come In”. When multiple people went to check out the house one night, they heard Carousel Music and the lights were flashing on and off. No electricity has ever run through that house. When our family played Hide and Go Seek on ATVs and Rangers, one ranger hid in a little nook where no one would see them. All of a sudden they smelt rotten eggs. When they tried to turn that ranger on, it wouldn’t start that night. When they turned it on in the morning it finally worked.
I don’t know if you believe in ghosts or spirits but trust me, Tante Lena is still there in that house today warning everyone who dares step into her house. So come to our Haunted Trail if you dare and see her house in person. She will be waiting for us.
