HEY NOLENSVILLE! School House Rocks is back next Saturday bringing the best local live music right to the heart of town! As always, these concerts are open to all ages and free to attend thanks to the support of DPV Music Lessons and the Nolensville Historical Society.

Here’s the lineup:

SILAS CARPENTER: Special guest from Searcy, Arkansas. From the Arkansas Times, “Carpenter’s original tunes are about love. His way of writing about romance, however, carries an uncommon frankness, a comfort with confrontation that’s beyond his years.” You won’t want to miss this songwriting phenom while you can catch him for free. Check out his music on Spotify and your other favorite streaming services and follow him on Instagram .carpenter for more to come.

GRANDSON: Back for a follow up performance at the schoolhouse. Relativity new band Grandson brings a unique sound they call Southeast Mathrock. Follow them on instagram to see what they’re up to.

DARLING: Making their first appearance at the schoolhouse. Darling is a local rock and punk band from Nashville Tennessee. They’re in the studio right now working on a new EP called Wings, coming to all streaming platforms soon. Go follow their instagram .band.darling to stay tuned!

FATAL AFFAIR: Also making their first appearance at the schoolhouse as the headliner for this show. Fatal Affair is a female alt rock band from Murfreesboro, Tennessee that combines powerful vocals, ripping guitars, heavy drums, and big bass tones to deliver a new fresh sound in alternative rock. NOLENSVILLE’S FREE LIVE LOCAL MUSIC ON SATURDAY AUGUST 9TH!
Here’s the lineup👇

Luca Arone - Lucas is a Nolensville-native who has played electric guitar for multiple bands. Now in college, he playing a solo set for us while he’s back for the summer. He has music recorded that will be released soon so follow him for updates. Lucas will be playing mainly acoustic covers of a wide range of rock songs from bands that influenced him.

Maya Grace - Maya is a 16-year-old artist from Middle Tennessee who’s been writing and playing music since she was 13. What started with Taylor Swift songs and guitar lessons has grown into her own sound, influenced by artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, and Jordi. Her music is honest, catchy, and full of feeling—just like her. For this show, she’ll be joined on guitar by her grandfather, Hal Matern, who enjoys being part of her musical journey. Whether she’s performing an original or putting her spin on a favorite cover, Maya brings an easy confidence and clear voice that draws people in.

Kingston Pharr - A graduate of Nolensville High School in 2024, Kingston is hitting the schoolhouse stage one more time before starting his college experience this Fall. Usually playing gigs around Nashville and the Southeast as the lead vocalist and guitarist for the heavy metal band Outpost, he is picking up his acoustic guitar (and maybe his mandolin) to play a set of his favorite alt-country, folk, and grunge tunes.

Preslee Campbell - Preslee is a young independent soulful pop artist located in Nashville, Tennessee! She plays volleyball at Eagleville High School and RVA. Her music is a combination of soulful/jazzy and modern pop R&B! Preslee produces, writes, performs and sings her own music. With experience performing in venues around Nashville, including a recent show at The Ryman, Preslee has the talent to make it big in the music world! Check her out before you have to pay the big bucks to see her!

Come out and support all of these talented local artists!

CHECK OUT THE LINEUP BELOW FOR School House Rocks IN TWO WEEKS! 🎻🎸🤘

FREE LIVE LOCAL MUSIC FOR ALL AGES!

We’ve got a good ole fashioned battle of genres with things getting heavier as the show goes on. Mark your calendars for April 5th so you don’t miss any of this:

FIDDLE FRENZY - Vanderbilt’s Fiddlers is an energetic performing ensemble of violin/fiddle students who play Scotch/Irish, old time, and bluegrass music, as well as classical and swing favorites. Under the direction of Crystal Weigman, they have become fan favorites at festivals, competitions and special venues where fun and good music is played.

TIME WILL TELL - Back by demand for an encore performance after their stellar debut at the last schoolhouse concert! Time Will Tell is a local group of uber-talented teens that bring all the energy with their blend of modern rock and 90’s era grunge. They absolutely blew the doors off the old schoolhouse at the last show and left it smelling like Teen Spirit!

OUTPOST - The band that started the Schoolhouse Concerts. Nolensville’s own heavy metal band. Having made their way around the rock venues of Nashville, then branching out to spots in Arkansas, Alabama, and Louisiana, the group that inspired the creation of Schoolhouse Rocks is back home to rock Nolensville. With their debut album out on streaming services, you can learn all their songs before you come headbang with your friends!

School House Rocks events are live local concerts, in Nolensville, for kids and young adults that have at least 1 member who's under 21. Giving these bands an opportunity to perform all while learning through experience is a large part of what and why we do it. Several local community members help with these on event day by setting up chairs, sound, lights, etc.

However, what we really need is a rolodex of sound engineers willing to donate their time to run sound. We've had one young adult, Cade Pedersen, of Livelight Productions, consistently show up and help, but he's often busy, as many of us are that are actively involved in the music business or other endeavors.

Please, if you are an experienced sound engineer or know of anyone who is, please reach out directly to Lael Eccard at [email protected] or call/text 615.283.0526
