Mark Rossier Pottery Nearly forty years of making contemporary functional and decorative pottery. All my pieces are made by traditional pottery methods.

They are meant to stand up to daily use in modern kitchens, but draw attention as individual pieces of art.

In 2017 the Thomas Fire devastated a large piece of California, including a place dear to me in Ojai. As we got reports of the clean up from our family there, I asked them to bring me ash when they next visited. I made this vase and put an Ojai ash glaze on it for my flower loving sister and brother-in-law, Libby and Aaron. The glass runs are from sea glass collected on Bates Beach, just down the road where we have wandered for many hours. Ojai is fine now, if still understandably traumatized, and I feel lucky to get to visit this vase and this place from time to time.
