My daughters quilt top is complete! She has been asking if this quilt is done every single day! Now onto putting the layers together and top stitches/basting (my least favorite part)!

It’s that time of the year again when I pull out my knitting machine and make hats for those I love! My 2 year old daughter picked out this yarn at a few weeks ago. It’s such a fun color and both my daughters have already loved wearing this hat!

Another commission piece complete for a fellow fan!!!! I have never crocheted pants before but I was up for the challenge. This project took over 6 months but thats cuz this summer was crazy and I had a lot of other project deadlines and I had no pattern for this project - I literally couldn’t find any Mens crochet granny square pants anywhere. But this project did involve a lot of trial and error, lots of undo my work and trying again. Figuring out how to line the inside of the pants and adding pockets was the hardest part because I knew the yarn was gonna be heavy and needed space to stretch and move so I used stretchy Packer fabric on the inside. I have always wanted to do more clothes making but my brain has a hard time with it, it doesnt come naturally like other art forms. For the waist band, I crocheted elastic into it and also crocheted a drawstring. I loved the challenge and GO PACK GO!

If you have seen my quilting updates you know that I have had a dull rotary blade for awhile now and I had every intention of order replacement blades right away but life is busy and I kept forgetting. Thankfully my husband saw them in the cart and placed the order for me! A man after my heart 🥰🥰 I’m a very happy lady now!

This weeks quilt progress. This is the reality of quilting as a stay at home mom, it’s slow progress, it’s little bit of progress here and there. So come and stay for awhile and watch as I slowly get this quilt completed over the next 2 months!

Big kids back in school meant the hubby and I accomplished a big project! We spent 4 hours on the kids first day of school painting our barn (that does not include multiple hours of sanding and patching and more sanding). We still need to figure out how to best paint the bottom metal half and paint white trim and doors. We sanded the whole barn to get old paint flakes out of the way. We used barn red paint. We had our 2 year old with us so that made it interesting. I split my time helping her paint and keeping her entertained with other things while we painted. After she covered all of her legs in paint 🫠, I gave her a bath and we took turns watching her in the house while the other parent painted. We are not as young as we use to be and we were pooped after just 4 hours but I also blame the heat! It was cool when we first started but with a flip of a switch it got hot and humid! All together this project costed around $200 which for our farm projects is pretty good.

I am a short girly so when I ordered this bridesmaid dress that only came in one length, I knew I would have to get it altered. I ended up taking 7.5 inches off the bottom!! I save all my fabric from projects of course as any natural craft hoarder does! I was trying to think of how to use this leftover fabric and the week of the wedding I decided to turn it into hair scrunchies for the bride and the 4 of us bridesmaids! The perfect wedding keepsake that everyone loved!

Our dog turned 8 yesterday and my 7 year old son loves celebrating all the animals/pets birthdays so we made cupcakes for us humans and I made our dog a Apple peanut butter dog cake that she gobbled up in less than a minute. The kids always love going to the local pet store to get a birthday treat for our pets too!
