When buying tickets to our concerts and performances, please consider making an additional donation to the theater when making a purchase. Considered one of the jewels of Newtown, this historic depression-era building, was a gift to the town by Mary Hawley, who died just before it was completed. Newtowners have long enjoyed the most affordable movies in the state. Thanks to the Mary Hawley trust,
this is the only place in the state where movies can still be enjoyed here for only $2.00. In order to keep up with the demands of current movie technology, the theater needs projection and sound upgrades, and a new screen. The Edmond Town Hall Theater is also the go-to venue in town for many other arts events, including chamber music, dance recitals, and a series of live radio variety shows. Theater goers immediately recognize the cosmetic renovations needed: plaster repair, painting, reupholstering balcony seats, and new stage drapes. Ultimately, behind-the-scenes modernizations will not only open the way for a wider variety of events, but will also enhance the live theater experience.
