Bucks County Community College, Warrington Township partners on Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition through August 15. Professor Jon Burns to share the creative process behind five student and alumni artworks during public tour Sunday, July 26 at Lions Pride Park
Bucks County Community College and Warrington Township have partnered to present a unique outdoor sculpture exhibition at Lions Pride Park through August 15.
The exhibition, installed along the park’s walking trails, showcases three collaborative sculptures created by current Bucks students and two works by alumni. Visitors are invited to vote for their favorite sculpture, and the piece with the most votes will be purchased by the township for permanent installation in the park, located at 3129 Bradley Road.
For a closer look at the artwork and the creative process behind them, Professor Jon Burns will lead a guided Sculpture Walk from 10 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 26. The event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required at warringtonrec.com under “Community Events.”
During the walk, Burns will discuss the inspiration behind each sculpture, the materials and techniques used, and how the College's 3D Arts curriculum prepared students and alumni to bring the large-scale pieces to life. Burns has taught in Bucks' 3D Arts program for many years, including a course on large-scale, site-specific sculpture.
The exhibition reflects the College's commitment to experiential learning and community engagement while enhancing the local cultural landscape, noted Carolina Blatt, Ph.D., dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts.

In June, the beloved artist Cynthia Kolesar left us unexpectedly while on a residency in upstate New York. Cynthia created fantastic sculptures with a focus on nature, animals and spirituality. Over the years, Cynthia took many classes at Bucks, and her infectious positivity was uplifting to all. As a certified master gardener specializing in custom and bespoke gardens, Cynthia had a loyal client following in Bucks County. When she saw her “Dragonfly” sculpture installed at the Lion’s Pride Park in Warrington in May,(pictured here) she was beaming with joy. Rest In Power Cynthia! We feel your creative spirit emanating from this wonderful sculpture! If you have a chance, go see Cynthia’s “Dragonfly” and the other four sculptures made by Bucks students in Lion’s Pride Park nestled around the play area. Look for the QR codes on the signs to vote for one of the three sculptures to be permanently installed and win the people’s choice prize of $500! One of them is a bit hidden on top of the hill!
