Thank you so much to the kid-dubbed "Big Boss of Newton," Mayor Laredo , for stopping by our summer camp and spending time with our 76 young artists!🎨

From touring the studios to fielding campers' hard-hitting questions 🎤 — "Why did you want to become mayor?" "Why did you choose to come here today?" "What's your favorite part of being mayor?" "Do you like making art?" "Is it hard to be the mayor?" 😆 — we loved giving the Mayor a firsthand look at all of the fun our campers have been having in everything from performance to clay. They were starstruck! 🤩

Thank you, Mayor Laredo, for your enthusiasm for New Art and its special place in our City's arts and culture landscape.We're grateful that you took the time to engage with your young constituents 🧑‍🎨 in Newton this afternoon!

Once Upon a Studio… 🧚‍♀️🐉✨

This week, our campers dove into all things Fairy Tales & Folktales by taking on enchanting projects in each class!

From building sculptures with tin foil and clay, to designing intricate dragon eyes with colored pencil and air-dry clay, to building fairy homes and magical sock puppets, our students explored their creativity in so many different ways across five different art classes.

3... 2... 1... Blast Off! Week 8 Is Off to the Skies 🚀

This week, our campers explored the skies, danced through outer space, and viewed the galaxy beyond while creating artwork that reminded us there are no limits to our creativity!

Our campers got creative with splatter-painted solar systems, chalk pastel galaxies with alien spaceships, photo printouts featuring each student, celestial clay creations, tissue paper paintings inspired by sights from Earth, and hanging baby bird mobiles.
