We are excited to bring oval racing back to Newton. Our hobby shop will have everything you need to get started.

We will be announcing rules and classes soon, but our goal is to keep things simple with affordable price points to compete and the focus on having fun racing each other.

🍂 Fall is upon us, and there’s been a lot going on behind the scenes at RC Pitstop & Raceway!

We’re getting ready to start our 5th year in business this coming December, and we feel it’s time to add a little diversification to our racing program.

We’re excited to announce that we will be adding 1RC Oval Racing! 🏁

For those who may not be familiar with 1RC, these are 1:18-scale, Ready-to-Run (RTR) oval cars. This class provides a new, more affordable price point for getting into RC racing and, hopefully, will bring some new faces to the track!

This will also be a “box stock” style class, meaning only limited modifications will be allowed. The goal is to keep the racing competitive, affordable, and fun for everyone.

🏁 What Does This Mean for Our Racing Schedule?

With the addition of oval racing, our normal racing program will be making some changes.

Our initial schedule will be:

10/27 — Oval Practice
10/31 — Oval Race
11/3 — Oval Practice
11/7 — Oval Race

Following that, we’ll return to off-road racing for two weeks.

Moving forward, we plan to follow a two-week off-road / two-week oval rotation for the foreseeable future.

As always, we will support what we race! We’re hoping to have our full selection of 1RC inventory available by the end of September. We would certainly appreciate your support if you decide to become a 1RC racer and choose to purchase your equipment locally.

We’ll be sending out more information about the oval racing program soon, including the rules and details for the new class.
