'Art is not what you see, but what you make others see." - Edgar Degas
Imagine helping people see their neighbors, love their neighbors as themself and thereby build a kinder community together.
NewCommunity, Inc in partnership with Newton Community Pride, has commissioned the artist-duo Grey Held and Leslie Held to paint a mural on the entrance wall of The Vault.
The Held's have designed a colorful, inclusive and inspiring art piece that radiates community. And in the spirit of the piece and the place in which it will be painted, they are inviting the community to come together to paint it!

_____________
The Vault is a space in Newton, MA that fosters community, support and dignity for people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, economic means, abilities and interests as we seek justice, live authentically, embrace the community, and express love toward one other.
It is the future home of a multi-use space designed to serve the community’s underserved populations with a “pay-what-you-can” community cafe to address food insecurities and a play place specifically designed for children with special needs, as well as promote education and appreciation of the arts through the buildout of a black box theater.
