Art by Lynn Davey Painting | Photography | Restoration There is something special, magical even, about a great piece of artwork. This is why I do what I do.

It can transport you to a different place and a different time. It can awaken your soul and your emotions and move you in a way nothing else can. To make others feel something when they view my art. There is a little piece of my heart and soul in all of my work.

Everyone loves a good before and after!

Sanding of the tops went smoothly (see what I did there?) and I was able to remove all of the scratches that I was afraid would be too deep. Here's a look at a freshly sanded top compared to how it started.

I also cleaned up the metal feet. I couldn't believe how much gunk I was able to get off! It was a pretty easy process. I put some really hot water and a little dish soap in an old bowl and let them soak for about 15 minutes. After that I brushed them with a nylon brush then gave them a good scrubbing with steel wool. Finally, I put a couple coats of clear poly on them to seal and protect them.

Now all that's left is to put the tops and bottoms back together, do any paint touch ups that need to be done, seal the paint with a couple coats of wax, then they should be ready to go!

New Project Sneak Peek...

I had some things to do in the Portsmouth area yesterday so I figured it was the perfect time to make my way to ReStore in Newington to see if they had any gems. Just when I was about to give up, two little end tables caught my eye.

The three questions I need to answer is...
1) Can the tops be salvaged and stained
2) What color do these cuties want to be
3) Will I be able to part with them when they're finished

So far the answers are... 🤷‍♀️, 🤷‍♀️, and 🤷‍♀️.

Oh, hi there! I'm going to be honest, I didn't even remember that this page was still active until I saw a few likes come through recently (thank you, and welcome!). Sooooo now that I know, I'll try to post more regularly... maybe... hopefully...

Here's a before and after of a project I just finished. I scooped this little cutie pie up at a yard sale a few weeks ago. I was hoping to keep the top natural wood, but after a few passes of the sander I realized it was too beat up. So I did some mending of holes, cleaned her up, and gave her a nice new paint job and shiny new pulls.

Now to find the next project!

The weather is FINALLY starting to improve which can only mean one thing... COMMENCE PROJECT LIST! One of the firsts on the "to-do" list is to give the master bath a facelift. She's served her purpose but it's time to give her a more grown up look.
