Newport Playhouse is holding auditions on FRIDAY, JUNE 26, at 2 pm for "THE 39 STEPS" written by Alan Stratton! Directed by Daniel Lee White, "The 39 Steps" will be playing at the Newport Playhouse from August 2 through August 23 *specific show dates available at audition.

The Newport Playhouse is seeking four versatile, energetic performers for its upcoming production of The 39 Steps, Patrick Barlow's wildly inventive adaptation of the classic Alfred Hitchcock thriller.
This fast-paced comedy requires actors with strong comic instincts, excellent physical storytelling skills, and the ability to switch characters, accents, and situations at a moment's notice. The show relies heavily on pantomime, theatrical creativity, and ensemble play. Performers should be comfortable embracing farce, physical comedy, and rapid-fire scene changes.
We are seeking four nimble, comedic actors, approximately ages 20-40, who can handle a demanding, fast-moving script and work collaboratively as an ensemble. Improv experience is a plus, as are skills in physical comedy, character work, and theatrical storytelling.
Actors of all genders, backgrounds, and experience levels are encouraged to audition.
Audition Format
Auditions will consist of a series of acting exercises and improv games designed to assess ensemble skills, physical storytelling, character work, comic timing, and the ability to think quickly on your feet.
No prepared monologue is required. Come ready to play, collaborate, and have fun.
