A clip from "Ghost Dance" by Cora Gosling (1868-1916) from our program at Rosecliff in March of 2025.

Originally composed for piano, it was arranged for theater orchestra by Harry L. Alford. You would have heard this performed on the steamship Providence on your trip from New York to Newport in May of 1913.

The Gilded Age Orchestra of Newport was proud to premiere the works of former US Ambassador to the Netherlands, the European Union, the OAS, and Secretary of the Navy J. William Middendorf II. It was a splendid night for music at the newly reopened The Historic Park Theatre and Event Center. Both the Ambassador and the Theatre are celebrating their 100th birthday.
