seat modern performing arts venue hosting year-round programming of live music, dance, theater and community events. Beyond restoring this architectural gem, the revitalization of the Opera House Theater will bring cultural, educational, and economic dynamism year-round to Newport - as both a state-of-the-art performance venue and a community resource in Newport's historic Washington Square. Alongside restoring the Opera House Theater to its architectural and decorative elegance of 1867, renovations include a state-of-the-art expanded stage; an intimate yet sweeping 700-seat auditorium; state-of-the-art sound, light, production, and other theatrical equipment; graciously restored architectural spaces including first and second floor lobbies, a grand stair case, and a beautiful mansard roof enclosing the fourth and final floor; elevator service on all four floors, with ADA accessibility; stunning balcony seating; and a rooftop atrium, rooftop garden terrace, and additional performance space overlooking Washington Square and Newport Harbor. Enlightening youth and engaging community with educational programming is a core mission of the Opera House Theater.
