We are excited to share our conversation with the great Charles Lloyd. We discuss ‘Sangam & Friends,’ out now on Blue Note Records, which finds the trio of Lloyd, the late Zakir Hussain, and Eric Harland in Mumbai joined by several Hindustani classical musicians. We discuss Lloyd’s creative relationship with Hussain, what it means for him to be service to the music, and - ahead of his upcoming Monterey Jazz Festival performance - Forest Flower at sixty.
