“I’m growing older — but I’m still living right where I want to be: at home.”
Marilyn, Barton, VT

Flipping the script on aging means recognizing that getting older doesn’t mean becoming invisible or giving up independence. It means honoring the strength it takes to ask for help — and the dignity of being supported with care and respect.

Marilyn lives with leukemia and other chronic illnesses. She continues to live safely at home with help from the NEK Council on Aging, Meals on Wheels, RCT transportation, and long-term care services.

Aging isn’t about decline. It’s about resilience. Connection. Community.
