CNU Tonight

CNU Tonight is the premiere sketch comedy club at Christopher Newport University. We write and perform comedic skits based on pop culture and campus drama.

Founded in 1999, CNU Tonight is a sketch comedy group (à la "Saturday Night Live" or "Mad TV") from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia. The club has seen many members move on to careers in comedy, from traveling standup acts to positions at The Second City in Chicago, Illinois. Twice per semester, the college students present a show of about ten sketches and one satirical new

s show (called Since Last Show). Everything is written and performed by members of the cast and admission is always free. Presented with a short list of limitations for sketch content, and armed with the stress-induced bitterness that can only be found on a college campus, CNU Tonight embodies a perfect balance between low-brow humor and corny puns that entertain CNU students and the general public alike.

Meet Noah!!! CNUT’s one and only Historian 🤩 As historian Noah edits and uploads all of our sketches on to our youtube page! Noah majors in Design/Video Art and minors in photography 📸 and is in the marching band in campus.
