Join us at the Ferguson Center Wednesday, July 24 @ 7 p.m. for a reading of this new musical! In the late 19th century, Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show toured the vast, expanding American landscape, offering dazzling displays of sharpshooting, horseback riding and living history. Now in the 21st century, a new Wild West show makes its debut, starring Annie Oakley, Calamity Jane, Millie-Christine McKoy and other famous and infamous women who stood at the nexus of nation building and entertainment during the era of Westward Expansion. Reclaiming the stage to tell their own narratives, they will dazzle you with daring feats, while discovering that perhaps our national origin story isn’t quite as simple as some would like to believe. This reading is free and open to the public. Email Diana Ruffer at [email protected] to reserve seats. Please include your name and the number in your party.

FREE open readings! Don't miss two opportunities to join us Sunday, July 14 (3 p.m. and 7 p.m.) for Ferguson Center New Musicals Lab open readings of Moonfaker, produced by Cynthia J. Tong with book by Sam French and music/lyrics by Kyle Wilson. It's 1969, and the United States is in a desperate race with the Soviet Union to land a man on the moon. Just in case they can't get the job done, the CIA is prepping for plan B: filming a fake moon landing. Leading the project is straight-laced Dougie Whittlebarker, an agent running from his tragic past. When no one wants in on the mission, Dougie is forced to assemble a team of total misfits and outcasts to envision, execute and fake one of the greatest moments in American history. These readings are free, open to the public and will take place in the Diamonstein Concert Hall. Email [email protected] to reserve seats!
