That being said, I love a good challenge and I wouldn’t have agreed to this if I didn’t want to do it 🥰

But this video loosely explains why I rarely accept large changes to paintings after they have already been started. Every so often, like the painting in the example, I’ll agree to take on a big change if I know it’s integral to my client’s loving the end result. But as a rule, once a paint has been started I stick with one color palette, one lighting reference, and work in subtly connected color mixtures in throughout the painting to make sure the entire piece flows and is cohesive visually. Did you know that lighting in paintings could be this tricky?
