Hey!!! It’s the Lockport Chalk Walk Committee.
Danielle Meyer, Heather Buechi, Becky Patterson, and Jess Tomaino are working on this event pretty much daily at this point. We are a month away!!! So if you see our names and faces online feel free to reach out. Notifications and algorithms can make contact tricky but we are here doing the things! We can’t wait to create with you all July 18th!

Our last day with Newfane ASAC is tomorrow, June 18th and we will be visiting with Miss Rhonda at Artisan Alley. 3pm-5pm (Yes, I know it’s a half day but it’s my daughter’s moving up day so we can’t do earlier, sorry!) We plan on chalking up and down Main Street (No rain allowed). There will be a drawing alternative if we do get the sky tears.

We are wrapping up the After School Art Clubs next week! These art clubs served Newfane and Royhart school districts with a handful of Wilson and Lockport students involved through murals or out of district attendance.

We reached 66 students this year through this Creative Impact Fund fueled programs. 72% of the students registered had a regular attendance rate. 36% of them attending over 90% of the sessions offered. A core of 24 which doubled from last year.

Funding for this program is made possible through Arts Services Inc.’s (Arts Services Inc. - ASI) Creative Impact Fund thanks to a New York State Senate Initiative supported by the NYS Legislature and the Office of the Governor, and administered by the New York State Council on the Arts.

We loved creating with them this year and look forward to next year! I can't speak highly enough of the team at Arts Services Inc. You guys really do advocate for us and it shows. Thank YOU (our local community tribe) for your support in all its forms too.

Big news for Western New York!

✨🎨 We can finally share! We are now a proud partner of the With Youth, For Youth grant 🎨✨ This supports our free programming over the 2026-2027 academic year. First, Lockport Chalk Walk gets our students involved. Second, the Royhart After School Art Club and the Newfane After School Art Club will have 24 sessions each! Third, our students will lead and install 5 community murals in Western New York this year. Let's gooooooooo! 📢

We are one of 40 organizations to receive a new grant because youth believe we are responsive to young people’s needs.
The WYFY Youth Advisory Board just directed more than $2 million in With Youth For Youth (WYFY) grants to 40 out-of-school time and youth sports programs across the region.

The 24-member Youth Advisory Board of young people ages 13–17 designed the process, reviewed applications, and selected the recipients.
