We are excited for our visit to Wisconsin – Check Out this News Video featuring the Blanchardville Swim Pond upon opening last summer

A group of us will be heading north to meet with The Friends of McKeller Park. Blanchardville is a community that reminds us so much of Newell. They had a pool just like ours that was built in the early 60’s. Last summer, they opened their community swim pond with kids jumping out of their shoes to run to the water when the ribbon was cut. One of our committee members remembers when NF was the first school in the state to have computers for every student. Newell could be the first community in Iowa to have a natural lined swim pond. Thank you for watching, following our project's progress and your continued donations and support.

The village lost its 60-year-old outdoor pool in McKellar Park about six years ago due to disrepair.
