What a night with LaMP at The Ellis.

An incredible evening of music, energy, and a room full of beautiful people. Huge thanks to Russ Lawton, Ray Paczkowski, and Scott Metzger for bringing their magic to Newburgh.

And a special happy birthday to Scott Metzger today! 🎂

Thank you to everyone who came out and shared the night with us. Nights like these are why we do what we do. ❤️

October at The Ellis.

The fog is coming in. The nights are getting longer.

Here’s what’s coming through the doors this month.

Hudson Fest to kick things off. A sound bath. LAMP live. And the Weird Fishes Costume Ball with Black Star Ensemble.

Wear something strange.

Then it gets louder.

Halloween Havoc with Blksmith. Ellis Flow. Haunting Sounds. Emo Night with Ghost of You.

And then the last week of October. We’ve been waiting all year for this one.

Newburgh Nightmare Vol. VII. Telepathic Moon Dance. Confession: Devil’s Night with DJ Midna Mayhem and LiuLiu Liminal.

And on the 31st, Belfry Bizarre. Our official Halloween party.

Come in costume.

The Ellis is one. ❤️

What a fu***ng year.

A year ago (yesterday) we opened the doors with no idea what this place would actually become. We just knew we wanted to make something special in Newburgh.

A year later and this old church has seen just about everything.

Music, art, dancing, bubbles, laughing, late nights, packed rooms, empty rooms, beautiful moments, ridiculous moments, and a lot of things we definitely didn’t see coming.

And we wouldn’t change it.

This week the Mid Hudson Times wrote about the new life inside a church that sat empty for over 20 years.

Funny timing.

Because one year in, it feels very much alive.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of it. Our staff, the artists, our friends, our neighbors, Newburgh, and every person who walked through those red doors and added something to the story.

We have a long way to go.

That’s the fun part.

Happy birthday Ellis.

We love you.

P.S. We know it’s only been one year. But we love Bowie.

Still catching up from last week.

Five events in five days at The Ellis.

Ellis Flow kicked it off on Wednesday. Human Centered Cities took over Thursday. House Night on Friday. Shakedown Citi on Saturday. Then Noche Latina closed us out on Sunday.

A full week of dancing, live music, conversations, familiar faces and plenty of new ones.

Big thank you to everyone who produced something, performed, worked, danced, hung out or just stopped by. We appreciate you.

Now we turn the room over for something completely different.

Heretic takes over The Ellis this coming weekend for three days of ritual, ruin & reverie.

See you there 🖤

bean bags, Boojum, stage slips, wigs, high kicks, horn sections, WHAT? a weekend!!

Boojum + What? on Thursday. Hollow Valley Sessions on Friday.

open mics, new faces, familiar faces, a lot of music, a lot of moving parts, and somehow every corner of the building getting used.

there’s something really special about watching this place fill up with other people’s ideas. every show leaves a little something behind and makes The Ellis feel a little more like itself.

still figuring out what this place can be.

Summer went fast. It feels like we were just getting started.

Some familiar faces. Some new ones.

September is full.

And then there’s HERETIC.

Three days of performance, music, art, theater, film and whatever happens when all of it gets put in the same room.
