Recreation Director Ahmed Dowdell is the heart of JFK Recreation Center. His love for the youth, genuine care for families, and unwavering commitment to creating a safe, positive space have made a lasting impact on countless lives throughout Newark.

Day after day, he leads with compassion, patience, and purpose, making sure every child who walks through those doors feels welcomed, encouraged, and inspired. His leadership has helped shape JFK into more than just a recreation center—it’s a second home for so many.
