Hawkins Perry Studios We are an elderly couple still trying to "keep up" with our love of creating. Our home studio and gallery is open by appointment.

In our case, whatever is pleasing to our eye, be it the figure, animals, or landscapes, etc. We are not a commercial gallery, just our home gallery and open only by appointment. Irma accepts commissioned paintings from photographs of loved ones, favorite places and things.

Hey, I'm still here. I have actually been very busy for a change, feeling better everyday. I think a lot of it is that I don't get enough exercise. Soooo, I'm working on it. We both are painting and Art is playing music everyday, harmonica, keyboard, and guitar. I just plink and plunk on the keybord now and then but I have a painting nearly finished which I am really enjoying working on. Quite a challenge. I'll post it for those of you who are interested, when it's further along. Have a good weekend y'all .

I finally finished a new "memory"painting and with Christmas events and trying to keep up with everything it was slow going. This particular scene is still so clear in my mind as my mom and dad were pulling me on a sled to my Aunt Mary and Uncle Peter's house. It was quite a long walk and it had turned dark already and it was just magical to see the moon rising and the snow looked like diamonds had been thrown all over it. It gets dark early in the UP of Michigan. Happy times! I suppose I was around 4 or 5 years old.

To those of you are interested, I finally have finished my portrait of my Finnish friend. I love getting back to my first love of painting people. It was a bit stressful as I haven't done formal portraiture for quite a while, but I am quite satisfied with it. I hope you all like it. She is a lovely lady.

Hi. everyone! Fairly decent day so far. Sunny when we got up and has turned into a cloudy day but the forecast high is to be 68 degrees according to my friend Google. Art and I plan on spending some time in the studio as Art is feeling his way through learning how to work with pastels and Irma is working on a portrait of a friend. I hope it is dry enough to finish today.. We both wish everyone a happy outcome for this fall day!

"The Guadalupe River" in Yelapa, Jalisco, Mx. My son Larry lived there several years and I took a photo of this scene to paint while on a hike.This river doesn't have much water in it until high tide from the Pacific, so it was quite dry. There were several places where they had made some walkways to get over deeper water to get to wherever...their home , maybe? Lovely place! I miss going there to visit. I hope you like it!

Hi folks!! Beautiful fall day and actually found time for the studio yesterday and today. Yesterday I worked on my portrait of a friend in Fnland and today just did some sorting of "stuff" there. The portrait is still too wet to work on but it is about 3/4 finished. Feeling so much better physically and getting some things done. Fall day at the Fairall farm in Frazeysburg, Ohio. O/C about 20 years ago. That is Aunt Hazel raking leaves.

Hi folks! Doing very well for an ancient Gr-Grandma, just at a slower pace. Started a portrait for a friend in Finland but can't work on it quite yet....too wet. But this will go quicker as it is only 11"X14" oil on canvas. Wish me luck.
