Whether you're curious about ballet, love moving to music, or simply want to try something new, this is the perfect opportunity to explore the world of dance in a welcoming, encouraging environment.

No experience needed, just a love of movement and a willingness to try something new!

Class Schedule

Tuesday, November 10

✨ 4:45–5:30pm: Creative Dance (ages 3–4½)

✨ 5:30–6:15pm: FUNdamentals (ages 5–6½)

Thursday, November 12

✨ 5:15–6:00pm: Beginning Technique (ages 6½–8)

✨ 6:15–7:15pm: Beginning Teen/Adult Ballet (ages 12 and up)

Saturday, November 14

✨ 10:30–11:30am: Beginning Technique (ages 8–11)

All classes are completely free and open to the community. Come discover what dance has to offer!

Sometimes all it takes is a little exposure to discover something you love.

We've been enjoying the opportunity to introduce elementary students throughout Newark City Schools to the joy of dance through their After School Adventures programs!

Our dancers share demonstrations of ballet and modern dance, perform excerpts from The Nutcracker, and answer students' questions before inviting everyone to join in on the fun.

Students explore dance fundamentals, learn different choreographic elements to move through space, and even practice a little ballet mime, like "I saw a mouse over there!" or "The beautiful king and queen danced!"

Along the way, they're discovering that ballet isn't just for one kind of dancer. (In fact, a few boys were especially inspired to join in after learning from their teachers that professional football players incorporate ballet into their training!)

We're grateful for opportunities like these to bring the arts into our community, spark curiosity, and encourage young people to try something new. Because dance is for everyone!

COYB enrollment is open year-round, so new students can join at any point in the session. Tuition is prorated, making it easy to start whenever the timing feels right.

We’re thrilled to officially welcome Rachael Parini to the COYB teaching team!

A former principal dancer with BalletMet, Rachael brings years of professional experience, artistry, and perspective to the studio. Now, our dancers will have the opportunity to learn from her regularly as part of their training at COYB.

We’re so excited to have Rachael in the studio and can’t wait for our dancers to learn from all she has to share. 🩰
