What an incredible day at Joga Jam! ⚽🎨🌎
This past Saturday, abingtonwalls transformed into a global celebration of soccer, street art, music, food, and culture. Hosted by Brick City Jam in partnership with Crafty Studios, The Art Walk, Love, 5ASIDE, and Wavy Footy, Joga Jam brought together artists, muralists, DJs, performers, vendors, food trucks, and community members for an unforgettable experience.
From live mural painting and diaspora-inspired art installations to music, food, fashion, photography, and storytelling, we celebrated the rich cultures and soccer traditions of Haiti 🇭🇹, Ghana 🇬🇭, Brazil 🇧🇷, and Ecuador 🇪🇨 while connecting Newark’s creative energy to the global spirit of the game.
A special thank you to our incredible partners The Art Walk, Love, Wavy Footy , New Jersey and New York Luxury Car Rentals and Crafty Studios for collaborating with us and helping bring this vision to life. We also want to thank all of the talented muralists, artists, performers, vendors, food trucks, volunteers, and supporters who made the day unforgettable.
A very special thank you to Ree Vilomar Timur Davis , and Miguel Paniagua for helping bring incredible artists to Abington Walls and contributing to the vibrant creative energy that made this event so impactful.
Together, we showed how culture, sport, and public art can bring communities together and create meaningful connections across borders.
