Conhecido pelos seus sócios pela insígnia RLA e carinhosamente pela comunidade como os “CB’s” este clube orgulhasse dos mais de 400 associados espalhados pelos quatro cantos do mundo, assim como muitos coloboradores e simpatizantes que através do rádio se dão a conhecer além mundo. O objectivo prioritário do Radio Luso American é o de dar a conhecer e promover a ligação via rádio entre todo o mundo lusofóno assim como auxiliar as comunidades em situações de emergência ou calamidades. Organização sem fins lucrativos, o Radio Luso American tem também uma vertente social e cultural em estreita coloboração com todas as organizações da comunidade e principalmente com a Fundação Bernardino Coutinho com especial relevo para as festividades do Dia de Portugal nos Estados Unidos da América. e com "UCLAN" Uniao de Clubes de New Jersey e Presentemente com o Portugal Day Newark. A persistência e dedicação de todos os associados que ao longo destes trinta e dois anos de existência lutaram para que esta associação fosse crescendo como referência comunitária foi recentemente reconhecida pelo Senado Estatal de Nova Jérsia com a atribuição de uma Declaração de Louvor como reconhecimento pelos serviços prestados em pról da comunidade.
