Unidentified Stages acknowledges that it's home city of Newark sit on the unceded ancestral lands of the Munsee-speaking Lenape people.

History and culture are central to our work as a theatre company. To tell stories on stage is to recognize the histories, the voices, the stories, and the people who have shaped the world we live in today.

We believe it is our responsibility to honor those histories, those voices, those stories, those people who have often gone unheard, erased, or ignored.

That is why we dedicate ourselves to providing creative platforms for history to be remembered, stories to be heard, and people to be seen.

We invite you to take a moment with us to reflect on the histories that brought us to this moment. It may be uncomfortable, but it is through that discomfort that we can truly work for a brighter and inclusive future.
