Have you ever mixed your paste, applied it to your canvas, and then noticed… lumps, uneven consistency , or cracks after drying? This small mistakes can completely ruin the smooth and polished look of your artwork. 😓But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered!😍 Chances are your paste wasn’t mixed properly. What’s going wrong? ❌ Dry clumps in the paste – If your paste isn’t fully combined, small dry bits will remain in the mix. Once applied, these clumps can create unwanted texture and prevent a smooth spread. ❌ Uneven consistency – If some parts of the paste are too dry and others too soft, the texture won’t apply evenly, making some areas rough or weak. ❌ Cracks after drying – Poorly mixed paste can have hidden dry spots that don’t bond properly. As it dries, these areas shrink at different rates, leading to cracking. How to FIX it: ✅ Mix on a palette (flat surface) – I always prefer mixing my paste on a straight, smooth surface instead of a bowl. This gives me more control, making it easier to blend everything evenly. ✅ Press and spread – Use a palette knife to press, spread, and fold the paste multiple times. This ensures all ingredients are properly combined, removing hidden dry patches. ✅ Check for clumps – Before applying, scrape the paste with a clean knife. if you see any rough spots, mix again! A well-mixed paste should have a smooth, buttery texture. ✅ Apply evenly– When spreading, keep a consistent pressure to avoid areas that are too thin or thick, which can lead to cracks later. A properly mixed paste makes all the difference! If you’ve ever dealt with cracks or rough textures, this might be the reason. Try this method and let me know if it helps! ✨🎨 Have you had this issue before?
