Ollie: “Stanley, why are you carrying a box marked ‘FRAGILE GLASSWARE’ like that?”

Stan: “Because it’s fragile, Ollie.”

Ollie: “Then why is it balanced on top of another box?”

Stan: “It seemed safer up there.”

Ollie: “Safer? The whole stack is leaning!”

Stan: “It’s only leaning a little.”

Ollie: “There’s a bicycle stuck between the boxes!”

Stan: “That’s part of the delivery.”

Ollie: “Since when do we deliver bicycles?”

Stan: “Since they put it in the box.”

Ollie: “Stanley, where’s the handcart?”

Stan: “I lost it.”

Ollie: “You lost the handcart?”

Stan: “It rolled away.”

Ollie: “And the bucket?”

Stan: “That rolled away too.”

Ollie: “How?”

Stan: “They were both going downhill.”

Ollie: “And you decided to carry all this by yourself?”

Stan: “I thought it would be quicker.”

Ollie: “Quicker?! We haven't even reached the end of the block!”

Stan: “We're making good time.”

Ollie: “Stanley, look behind you!”

Stan: “What?”

Ollie: “The boxes are falling!”

Stan: “Oh.”

Ollie: “DO SOMETHING!”

Stan: “I am!”

Ollie: “What are you doing?”

Stan: “Trying not to drop the fragile glassware.”

The entire stack wobbles.

Ollie: “Stanley…”

Stan: “Yes, Ollie?”

Ollie: “Put everything down.”

Stan: “Where?”

Ollie: “Anywhere!”

Stan: “Even the glassware?”

Ollie: “Especially the glassware!”

With Laurel and Hardy handling a “fragile” delivery, the real mystery isn't whether the glassware will survive—it's whether they will survive the delivery!

Ollie: “Stanley, are you sure this is the right way to move a carpet?”

Stan: “Yes, Ollie. I’ve done it before.”

Ollie: “You’ve done what before?”

Stan: “Moved a carpet.”

Ollie: “Then why is it still wrapped around the cart?”

Stan: “Because it’s easier to carry that way.”

Ollie: “Easier? I’m doing all the work!”

Stan: “I’m helping.”

Ollie: “You’re holding the carpet!”

Stan: “Exactly.”

Ollie: “And where are we supposed to take it?”

Stan: “Upstairs.”

Ollie: “Up those stairs?”

Stan: “Yes.”

Ollie: “With this enormous carpet?”

Stan: “Yes.”

Ollie: “And the suitcases?”

Stan: “Those go upstairs too.”

Ollie: “Why didn't you tell me that before we started?”

Stan: “You didn't ask.”

Ollie: “Stanley, there are three suitcases, a carpet, a handcart, and absolutely no room on those stairs!”

Stan: “We’ll manage.”

Ollie: “How?”

Stan: “Very carefully.”

Ollie: “That’s what you said last time.”

Stan: “And it worked.”

Ollie: “You fell through a window!”

Stan: “But I got there.”

Ollie: “Stanley…”

Stan: “Yes, Ollie?”

Ollie: “Put the carpet down.”

Stan: “Why?”

Ollie: “Because I have a feeling we're about to need it as a parachute.”

And with Laurel and Hardy handling the move, getting one simple carpet upstairs was never going to be a simple job!

Ollie: “Stanley, why are you carrying the entire plumbing department?”

Stan: “I thought we might need a few things.”

Ollie: “A few things? You’ve got enough equipment to rebuild the whole city!”

Stan: “I wanted to be prepared.”

Ollie: “Prepared for what?”

Stan: “The leak.”

Ollie: “There’s one little leak!”

Stan: “Yes, but you never know.”

Ollie: “And why are you wearing the hose around your neck?”

Stan: “It was too long to put in the box.”

Ollie: “Then coil it up!”

Stan: “I did.”

Ollie: “Around yourself?”

Stan: “It seemed convenient.”

Ollie: “Stanley, give me the wrench.”

Stan: “Which one?”

Ollie: “The wrench in your hand!”

Stan: “Oh, this one?”

Ollie: “Yes!”

Stan: “I thought you meant the other one.”

Ollie: “There are three other wrenches!”

Stan: “I like to have choices.”

Ollie: “And what are those pipes for?”

Stan: “I don't know.”

Ollie: “You don't know?”

Stan: “No. But they looked important.”

Ollie: “Stanley, we're supposed to fix a faucet, not build a new house!”

Stan: “Oh.”

Ollie: “And please tell me you haven't turned on the water yet.”

Stan: “Not yet.”

Ollie: “Good.”

Behind them, the street fountain suddenly erupts into the air.

Stan: “Ollie?”

Ollie: “What?”

Stan: “I think the water is already on.”

Ollie: “STANLEY!”

With Laurel and Hardy on the plumbing job, fixing one small leak is guaranteed to become a citywide water emergency!

Ollie: “Stanley, why are we carrying all these brooms?”

Stan: “Because we were sent to deliver them.”

Ollie: “All of them?”

Stan: “That’s what the man at the hardware store said.”

Ollie: “Then why are you carrying that enormous wooden frame?”

Stan: “He said it was important.”

Ollie: “Important for what?”

Stan: “I didn’t ask.”

Ollie: “Stanley, we’re supposed to deliver one order!”

Stan: “Yes.”

Ollie: “And how exactly are we going to get all this into the truck?”

Stan: “Very carefully.”

Ollie: “There’s barely room for us!”

Stan: “Then we’ll have to leave something behind.”

Ollie: “Good. Leave the brooms.”

Stan: “But they’re the order.”

Ollie: “Then leave the wooden frame.”

Stan: “But that’s holding the brooms.”

Ollie: “Stanley…”

Stan: “Yes, Ollie?”

Ollie: “I suddenly understand why they gave us the job.”

Stan: “Why?”

Ollie: “Because nobody else was foolish enough to accept it.”

Stan: “Oh.”

Ollie: “Now help me load this thing.”

Stan: “Which thing?”

Ollie: “Everything!”

Stan: “Right.”

With Laurel and Hardy, even delivering a simple load of hardware becomes a mission nobody could possibly complete without chaos!

Ollie: “Stanley, are you sure you know what you’re doing?”Stan: “Of course, Ollie. I’m fixing the plumbing.”Ollie: “Then...

Ollie: “Stanley, are you sure you know what you’re doing?”

Stan: “Of course, Ollie. I’m fixing the plumbing.”

Ollie: “Then why am I the one covered in water?”

Stan: “I thought you said you wanted a shower.”

Ollie: “I said I wanted the leak fixed!”

Stan: “Oh. That’s different.”

Ollie: “And why are you holding that hose?”

Stan: “Because you told me to hold the hose.”

Ollie: “I told you to turn the water off!”

Stan: “I tried.”

Ollie: “Tried?”

Stan: “Yes. It didn’t want to turn off.”

Ollie: “Water doesn’t have feelings, Stanley!”

Stan: “This water does.”

Ollie: “And why is my entire suit soaked?”

Stan: “I was testing the pressure.”

Ollie: “On me?”

Stan: “You were standing there.”

Ollie: “That is not a reason!”

Stan: “It seemed like a good place to start.”

Ollie: “Stanley, give me that wrench.”

Stan: “All right.”

Ollie: “Now stand back.”

Stan: “How far?”

Ollie: “As far away from me as possible.”

Stan: “All right.”

Ollie: “And don't touch anything.”

Stan: “I won't.”

Ollie: “Promise?”

Stan: “Promise.”

Stan quietly reaches for the faucet.

Ollie: “STANLEY!”

Stan: “I was only going to help.”

Ollie: “That's exactly what I'm afraid of!”

Conclusion: With Laurel and Hardy, even fixing a simple leak somehow becomes a full-scale plumbing disaster!

10/03/2026

Ollie: “Stanley, what are you doing up there?”

Stan: “I’m fixing the chandelier.”

Ollie: “You’re fixing it with one hand?”

Stan: “I only need one hand.”

Ollie: “And what’s the other hand doing?”

Stan: “Holding onto the chandelier.”

Ollie: “Stanley, that is the chandelier you’re holding onto!”

Stan: “Yes.”

Ollie: “Then what exactly are you fixing?”

Stan: “The chandelier.”

Ollie: “But you’re standing on a ladder, holding the chandelier, and getting soaked!”

Stan: “I noticed that.”

Ollie: “Why is water coming out of it?”

Stan: “I think that’s part of the problem.”

Ollie: “And why have you brought all those electrical wires?”

Stan: “You told me to bring the electrical equipment.”

Ollie: “I told you to bring the tools!”

Stan: “These are tools.”

Ollie: “Those are wires!”

Stan: “Very useful wires.”

Ollie: “Stanley, get down before you electrocute yourself!”

Stan: “All right, Ollie.”

Ollie: “Slowly!”

Stan: “I am going slowly.”

The chandelier suddenly swings.

Ollie: “STANLEY!”

Stan: “I’ve got it!”

Ollie: “You’ve got the chandelier!”

Stan: “Exactly.”

Ollie: “That’s what I’m afraid of!”

Stan: “Don’t worry, Ollie. I know what I’m doing.”

Ollie: “That’s the most frightening thing you’ve said all day.”

Stan: “Why?”

Ollie: “Because every time you say that, something breaks.”

Stan: “Oh.”

Ollie: “Now get down!”

Stan: “All right.”

Ollie: “And leave the chandelier alone.”

Stan: “Certainly.”

Ollie: “Promise?”

Stan: “Promise.”

Ollie: “Good.”

Stan: “Can I fix the ceiling instead?”

Ollie: “Stanley, what exactly are you doing?”

Stan: “I’m making dinner.”

Ollie: “You’re sitting on a stool in the middle of the kitchen with a whisk.”

Stan: “Yes. That’s how you make dinner.”

Ollie: “And why are you covered in flour?”

Stan: “I was trying to find the flour.”

Ollie: “It was in the cupboard.”

Stan: “I know that now.”

Ollie: “And why is there flour all over the floor?”

Stan: “The cupboard was difficult to open.”

Ollie: “What happened to the cupboard?”

Stan: “It opened.”

Ollie: “Stanley, you’ve made an awful mess.”

Stan: “Don’t worry, Ollie. I’ve nearly finished.”

Ollie: “Finished what?”

Stan: “I don’t know.”

Ollie: “Then perhaps you should get down from that stool before something else goes wrong.”

Stan: “All right.”

Stan climbs down. The stool wobbles.

Ollie: “Careful!”

Stan: “I am being careful.”

The bowl suddenly tips.

Ollie: “Stanley!”

Stan: “Oh dear.”

Ollie: “You’ve done it again!”

Stan: “But look on the bright side.”

Ollie: “What bright side?”

Stan: “We don’t have to wash the bowl anymore.”

Ollie: “Why not?”

Stan: “There’s nothing left in it.”

Ollie: “Stanley… let’s just order dinner.”

Stan: “Good idea. What are we having?”

Ollie: “Anything that doesn’t require cooking.”

Stan: “Toast?”

Ollie: “No!”

Stan: “Soup?”

Ollie: “Definitely not!”

Stan: “Then I suppose we’re having nothing.”

Ollie: “Finally, something you can’t ruin.”

???? LAUREL & HARDY — “THE HARDWARE STORE JOB”

They went to buy one simple tool. Somehow, Laurel ended up carrying half the hardware store home.

Hardy: “Stanley, what exactly are we supposed to be fixing?”

Laurel: “I’m not sure.”

Hardy: “Then why did you buy all these tools?”

Laurel: “You said we needed tools.”

Hardy: “I said we needed a tool!”

Laurel looks down at the enormous coil of hose around him.

Hardy: “And what is that?”

Laurel: “The hose.”

Hardy: “We don't need a hose.”

Laurel: “We might.”

Hardy: “For what?”

Laurel: “For the thing we’re fixing.”

Hardy sighs.

Hardy: “And the ladder?”

Laurel: “For reaching things.”

Hardy: “And the wooden crate?”

Laurel: “For carrying things.”

Hardy: “And the broken chair?”

Laurel: “That was free.”

Hardy stares at him.

Hardy: “Stanley… did you actually buy anything we need?”

Laurel pauses.

Laurel: “I bought a sandwich.”

Hardy closes his eyes.

Hardy: “Let's just go home.”

Laurel: “But we haven't fixed anything yet.”

Hardy: “Exactly.”

Would you trust Laurel & Hardy with a simple hardware-store job? ????

When Laurel & Hardy tried to fix an old car, the engine apparently decided to fight back.

Hardy: “Stanley, I told you not to touch that engine!”

Laurel: “I didn't touch it.”

Hardy: “Then why is it smoking?”

Laurel: “Perhaps it's thinking.”

Hardy cautiously leans closer.

Hardy: “Thinking about what?”

Laurel: “How to get away from us.”

Hardy looks at the engine.

Hardy: “Hand me the wrench.”

Laurel hands him the wrong tool.

Hardy: “This is a screwdriver.”

Laurel: “I know.”

Hardy: “Then why did you give it to me?”

Laurel: “You asked for a wrench.”

Hardy: “Exactly!”

Laurel: “I couldn't find one.”

Suddenly, another cloud of steam rises from the engine.

Hardy jumps back.

Hardy: “Stanley!”

Laurel: “Yes?”

Hardy: “What did you put in the radiator?”

Laurel pauses.

Laurel: “Water.”

Hardy sighs with relief.

Hardy: “Good.”

Laurel: “From the garden hose.”

Hardy stares at him.

Hardy: “And?”

Laurel: “It was still attached to the hydrant.”

Hardy: “STANLEY!”

Laurel looks at the smoking engine.

Laurel: “I think it's fixed.”

Hardy: “How?”

Laurel: “It stopped running.”

Hardy: “That's because you broke it!”

Laurel: “Then we succeeded.”

The Laurel & Hardy rule of mechanics: If the engine stops making noise, you've either fixed it… or made things much worse.

Would you trust these two with your car? ????

They were supposed to wallpaper one wall. Somehow Laurel ended up wearing the wallpaper, Hardy ended up wearing the wallpaper, and the wall itself was the only thing they hadn't touched.

Hardy: “Stanley, what happened to the wallpaper?”

Laurel: “I put it up.”

Hardy: “On the wall?”

Laurel: “Yes.”

Hardy looks at himself.

Hardy: “Then why is it around my neck?”

Laurel: “It slipped.”

Hardy: “Wallpaper doesn't slip onto a man's neck!”

Laurel: “This one did.”

Hardy: “And what happened to the rest of it?”

Laurel: “I was saving it.”

Hardy: “For what?”

Laurel: “Another wall.”

Hardy points at the half-covered wall.

Hardy: “We haven't finished this one!”

Laurel: “That's because you keep standing in front of it.”

Hardy: “I'm standing here because you wrapped me in wallpaper!”

Laurel: “It looks nice on you.”

Hardy: “Stanley!”

Laurel: “Perhaps we could start a new fashion.”

Hardy pulls the wallpaper away from his jacket.

Hardy: “Just hand me the paste.”

Laurel: “I used it.”

Hardy: “On the wall?”

Laurel: “No.”

Hardy slowly looks at him.

Hardy: “Where?”

Laurel points to Hardy's jacket.

Laurel: “There.”

Hardy looks down.

Hardy: “You've pasted me to my own clothes.”

Laurel: “Well… at least they won't fall off.”

Funny conclusion:
The wallpaper was crooked, the paste was everywhere, and Hardy had become part of the decorating job. Laurel, naturally, considered the whole thing a success.

Would you let Laurel & Hardy wallpaper your house?
How long do you think that wall would stay standing?
