Dear all,
Quick update on what we are trying to accomplish with our Shakespeare2020 reads.
This has been an organic process to say the least! It is definitely experiential vs performative. It is about experiencing and discovering the plays, poetry, drama, comedy, all of it together, in real time, in this unique global situation. Currently meeting each other online, around the world, finding joy, connection, soul food, togetherness in the Bard’s works. We are all performers in a fashion yet the focus of our reads are more about discovery.

Meanwhile, our Shakes2020 SOP [standard operating procedures :)
* Format for the readings are circular. We move from one person to the next. This gives everyone a chance to read and experience multiple characters.
* If there is text (within the piece we are reading) that you want to read, let us know ahead of time. Dib it!
* We have a copy of the text(s) running on the Zoom app. Be mindful of your audio to avoid feedback and extra noise.
* Resources (synopses, text of plays, poems, sonnets, history, videos, etc) Shakespeare 2020 project – Read through the Bard in a year
* We start as close to on time as possible. Our zoom ‘green room’ will be open as soon as you get the link. So you can hang out, check tech set up, all that fun stuff. FYI there’s a new zoom link each read.
* We read from start to finish and this can take hours! You are welcome to join and drop out any time. Happy to have you even for a few minutes. When we read the epic poems, we also read the sonnets and get through as many as we can/want.
LOVE in the name of the Bard 💘
