At the Dallas Art Fair: Dulan’s Swan (1962) by Frank Bowling sold on the spot for a six-figure sum—setting a record for the fair. Presented by gallery, this rare early work found a new home with a Dallas collector. No pre-selling. No hesitation. As Vardaxoglou put it, “Great paintings will sell any time.”

Bowling’s connection to the city runs deep—from his celebrated Map Paintings at the DMA in 2015 to the current Fort Worth show honoring him and Aubrey Williams.
