The artist collective fierce p***y (Carrie Yamaoka , Joy Episalla , , , fp_1991) — and Gaku Tsutaja (Gaku Tsutaja) will be part of this international artistic campaign in support of ICAN (International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons) and the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW).

Rooted in the belief that meaningful change comes through collective action and public refusal, the exhibition brings together posters, film, photography, sculpture, literature, and more from artists connected to MoMA PS1

Gaku Tsutaja and Carrie Yamaoka are featured in Reclaiming the Future: The Legacy of Japanese American Incarceration, opening at the New Mexico Museum of Art!

The exhibition brings together ten Japanese and Japanese American artists whose work engages the enduring legacies of wartime incarceration, migration, memory, and place. Anchored by the museum’s proximity to the former Santa Fe Internment Camp, the show considers history as a living terrain shaped by remembrance, resilience, and return.

Huge thanks to Director Alexandra Terry Alexandra Terry, curator Machiko Harada, and Executive Director Marisa Sage Marisa Sage for bringing this powerful exhibition to life.

Open now and on view through May 31, 2027!

We are delighted to share that “24 by 20 (black on black #2),” 2019 by Carrie Yamaoka has entered the permanent collection of the Dallas Museum of Art

The work was acquired by the late Charles Dee Mitchell in 2021 and has now been formally accessioned into the DMA’s holdings as part of a significant gift from his estate – approved by the Committee on Collections and the Board of Trustees on May 7, 2026.

We’re honored to see Carrie’s work join the DMA’s collection, and to celebrate Dee Mitchell’s enduring commitment to supporting artists and public institutions. 🙏
