New York Theatre Ballet Dedicated to performing works by legendary masters and emerging visionaries since 1978.

“An invaluable company…”

“New York Theatre ballet confirms its status as an invaluable company,” says Alastair Macaulay of the New York Times. (April 2010)

Founded by Diana Byer in 1978, NYTB performs traditional works by choreographers such as Ashton, Tudor and Robbins; is sought after by the heirs of Moderns such as Limón and Cunningham to correctly recreate their original works; and commissions significant, emerging

choreographers such as Alston, Bond, Tanowitz, Pelle and more. NYTB has self-produced at venues including Florence Gould Hall, Danspace Project, and New York Live Arts; and appeared at Carnegie Hall, NYC Center, Brookfield Place, 92Y and Schimmel Center. Touring venues have included Jacob’s Pillow, Kaatsbaan, Kirkland Performing Arts Center, WA, Johnny Carson Theatre, NE, Dixie Carter Theatre, TN and Colonial Theatre, NH. NYTB has earned national acclaim for its restoration and revival of small masterworks by great choreographers and for its innovative hour-long ballets based on children’s literature. Audiences know the Company for its theatrical expressiveness, high production quality, and intimate accessibility to every audience member.
