In 1590, the entire colony of Lost Colony of Roanoke vanished without explanation. Over 100 settlers disappeared overnight, leaving behind only one word carved into wood:

> “CROATOAN”

Historians believed the colony either starved, fled, or was killed. But in 2026, during renovations beneath an abandoned church near North Carolina, workers discovered a hidden stone basement sealed behind a collapsed wall.

Inside were rusted lanterns, bones, and hundreds of claw marks covering the stone.

At the center of the chamber stood the word:

> “CROATOAN”

Freshly carved.

A team of historians and paranormal investigators entered the underground room to document the discovery. As candlelight flickered across the walls, strange whispers echoed through the darkness in an unknown colonial dialect.

Then the wall cracked open.

A decayed figure in 16th-century colonial clothing slowly crawled from the darkness behind the stones. Its hollow white eyes stared directly at the crew while its bloody fingers scratched deeper into the wall.

One investigator translated the whispers before disappearing moments later.

In the winter of 1893, the passenger ship The Mourning Star vanished without a trace while crossing a frozen lake near the border of Canada and the United States. Over 200 passengers and crew disappeared during a violent storm that lasted three nights. No wreckage was ever found.
For decades, fishermen spoke of strange green lights moving across the fog at midnight. Some claimed they heard distant ship horns echoing through the frozen air… even when the lake was completely empty.
In present day, a group of paranormal explorers traveled to the lake after multiple people vanished near the shoreline. Armed with cameras and drones, they entered the freezing fog just after sunset.
Then the water began to move.
Out of the thick mist emerged a gigantic rusted ship, impossibly silent, its ancient hull dripping black water. Dozens of glowing ghost sailors stood motionless along the deck, their hollow eyes fixed on the living.
The explorers soon realized the ship wasn’t floating…
It was gliding without touching the water.
As they filmed, an old voice crackled through their radio:
“All passengers… prepare for boarding.”
One explorer suddenly walked toward the lake as if hypnotized. Others tried to stop him, but shadowy ghost hands rose from beneath the water, dragging him into the freezing darkness.

No crashes. No bodies. Just abandoned cars left in the middle of the empty highway… engines still running.

For years, locals whispered about a creature they called “The Midnight Runner.”
A tall, pale humanoid thing seen only after midnight under the moonlight. Witnesses claimed it didn’t run like a human… its limbs bent unnaturally, and its glowing eyes could be seen from miles away in the dark desert fog.

One night, a young travel vlogger named Ethan decided to investigate the legend for his followers. Armed with only a camera and flashlight, he parked near the old Route 66 sign at exactly 12:13 AM.

At first, everything was silent.
Then the fog rolled across the asphalt.

His camera suddenly began glitching. In the distance, something tall stepped onto the road.
It stood completely still… watching him.

Ethan laughed nervously into the camera.
“Guys… I think I found it.”

And then it moved.

Not walking.
Not running.

It sprinted toward him at impossible speed, its body twisting unnaturally with every step. The glowing eyes grew larger and larger as the creature crossed the highway in seconds.
