Community Night Announcement!
It’s been a minute, and LPC is still working on a little bit of fundraising and support building, but we want to get back to amplifying what we do best: uplifting our community!

What better way to do that than to celebrate our friends at Intar and SoHo Rep with their production of The Potluck on July 7th at 7PM!
Use code LPCFAM to get $22 tickets to this incredible new musical and join us for a night of community, gathering, and storytelling—something we always love.

The Potluck is a new musical featuring a 12-person intergenerational cast that conjures the soft side of revolution and asks what it means to survive when the government is actively trying to harm you. Through music, memory, and community, the show explores healing, resistance, and the ties that bind us across generations.

Get your tickets now and get ready to join The Potluck!

We are close to finishing the Intensive Mentorship for 2026, but we wanted to highlight the second extraordinary pairing from the program: Nestor Guzman and Georgina Escobar!

Emerging new playwright Nestor Guzman teams up with accomplished mentor Georgina Escobar, who we’re excited is coming back to mentor, for a special collaboration bringing their piece Lullaby to life.

This mentorship is exactly what it’s all about: uplifting new voices, fostering creative collaboration, and making room for heartfelt storytelling to grow.

We can’t wait for you to experience Lullaby as it develops. Join us for a live reading on April 20 at INTAR Theatre. RSVP

Lullaby by Nestor Guzman 🌳

We’re excited for the second new play of our Intensive Mentorship Reading Series to take the stage for its first public reading, marking the very first time it meets an audience.

Lullaby is a magical-realist family drama play about an unborn child, Elyan, who is forced to be born into the real world a boy. Refusing an identity that isn’t their own, Elyan journeys to their first birthday candle and wishes to never be born. As Elyan’s resistance echoes into the real world, their mother, Nayeli, faces escalating pregnancy complications that fracture her current relationship with her present. This play explores the importance of identity, community, and generational healing as a radical act of survival.

Some more about The Wedding March:
The Wedding March is an authorized adaptation of Judith Ortiz Cofer’s acclaimed Silent Dancing: A Partial Remembrance of a Puerto Rican Childhood, first premiered in 1991 with creative development and direction by Rosalba Rolón. A woman revisits stories told by the other women of her family, through poetry, music, and vibrant storytelling, she questions the ideals of romance and femininity passed down to her, navigating life between the island and The Bronx. Her voice is passionate, bold, and full of wit. The play invites us into her inner world, where love, heritage, and identity converge.

Community Nights are always the best and seeing our people together celebrating our art is amazing! Come!

Skull Rack by Jaymes Sanchez ☠️

This new work hits the stage for the first public reading of LPC’s Intensive Mentorship Reading Series and this is where the work meets the audience for the very first time!

In this pseudo-historical dark comedy set in 1459,
Tez is captured by the Mexica (more commonly known as the Aztecs) and forced to impersonate a Nahua god for a year.

Unbeknownst to him, he is participating in a ritual that will result in his brutal sacrifice, a religious ritual that the king uses to inspire the people toward conquest.

Tez tries to convince himself that he actually is a god,
if only to reduce his debilitating fear of death.
As he and his babysitter, the king’s niece,
develop a bond, they plot their
escape from the empire.

Directed by Cristina Angeles
Featuring Danny Borba, Gabriela Torres, David Anzuelo, and Jen Anaya
