✨🍁Happy Mehregan🍁
“Mehregan” is the name day feast of harvest bounty for the sun god of light & compassion Mehr/Mithra.
💨The beginning of fall is as much a beginning as it is a decline💨
🍁 In ancient Persia as well as many indigenous cultures around the world this is when the year would begin after all that has grown has reached its full in the cycle of birth. After Mehregan, light descends into dark and the hero/heroine’s journey begins... A bounty of feasts would be prepared as families would honor the dance and balance of light and dark as intrinsic to our very existence— a worship of the shadow we all carry and a commitment to find the light within it all.
🍁 This is a moment of gratitude, reflections of lessons learned from that years harvest, and a release in order to make room for energy forward. Now we begin our journey into the darkest of depths until the light’s return at winter solstice. In addition to feasts and celebrations, ancient Persians would honor this cycle by burying summer watermelons to dig back up to welcome the light in December at solstice.
🦴 As we spend this month clearing our skeletons, our bones, and womb, colors shift to orange mirroring our sacral energy center that is also orange, where and how we hold our past wounds. Healing and forgiveness doesn’t mean we forget, it just means the past no longer holds power over our spirit
🌙Forgiveness means our triggers rooted in ancestral trauma no longer run the show and we have a choice with how we react and call in new experiences.
✨We cannot control the seasons but we can align our intentions with an already existing mirroring of energy centers between the earth and our bodies.
✨The only everlasting truth we can depend on is the cycle of change. ✨🔥
