When was the last time you saw this Petit Allegro from Sallie Wilson? 💙🩵

Leotards & skirts gifted by ✨

This petit allegro challenges the dancers to both utilize the jump and the balance by pairing temps de cuisse and glissade with the slight rond de jambe on relevé. It also utilizes the Peer position of the arms, key in the Cecchetti technique. Make sure to elongate the breath between the rond de jambe and the glissades to give dynamics to the step!

When was the last time you saw this Grand Allegro with a Big Body Bend? 💙🩵

Featuring the beautiful leotards of ✨

This grand allegro incorporates a big jump in the beginning (the technique of which we explained in a previous video) that requires pressing down further into the plié in order to land the jump and propel into the next step. Then, instead of springing up to a pique, this variation of the step includes a big bend forward, and swinging up to croisé front.

Featuring dancewear from , this Men’s Grand Allegro step challenges coordination, rhythm, and dynamics. To find the weight shifts between steps, to reach forward on the elancé arabesque, to almost touch the ground with your fingers — all of these elements make up a wonderful, challenging Grand Allegro demonstrated masterfully by Victor Abreu (), a pupil of Diana Byer and current Soloist at New York City Ballet.

An important part of this step is the dart to arabesque. This accent should be sharp, but contrast with the flow of the next jump.

When was the last time you saw this Grand Allegro combination with a Jump in Attitude? 🩵💙

The most important part of this step is the coordination of the arms especially at the top of the jump. The breath of the arms at the top help to create a moment of pause at the top of the jump, as if the dancer floats up there for an extra second.

Not only is this step fun to watch, but it’s even more fun to execute (especially wearing Elevé Dancewear). Let us know if you try this one!
