- "Kappari" means "caper" in Greek (κάππαρη). On a delightfully extended vacation in Greece, our founder was eating an afternoon snack when her grandmother emerged from the kitchen holding a jar of capers. "Your aunt Katina handpicked these for you in Tinos, she cleaned them and made them, because she loves you!"
The idea of traveling to handpick and prepare a gift for someone you love is the inspiration for Kappari℠. Each one of our items is sourced from a location in Greece and produced or made by Greeks. We take care of the items we select and support locals who have preserved traditions that have kept the spirit of their village, island and love for their country alive.
