NYF Advertising Awards Celebrating the World's Best Advertising®. A New York Festivals Competition.

"You'll Be Back" taps into the phenomenon of meme humor to effectively break down barriers surrounding joint replacement. One of the challenges the agency faced was to balance humor with the serious nature of the subject, ensuring that the message remained motivational without trivializing the experiences of those living with joint pain. The campaign was recognized with a Bronze Award at the 2025 New York Festivals Health Awards.

By leveraging Arnold's comedic delivery on social media platforms, Klick Health transformed insights into relatable narratives that got viewers to take actionable steps toward better mobility. The campaign's objectives were met through engaging content that resonated with their audience, while giving them a way forward at YoullBeBack.com. Within just the first week, the campaign made over 330 million impressions and their find-a-doctor tool saw a 12x higher completion rate. Current estimates show that 30% of those who used the tool will go on to get a new knee, driving significant revenue for Zimmer Biomet.

"Healthcare advertising often asks people to take action by making the stakes feel heavier. We saw an opportunity to make the next step feel lighter. Humor gives people a way past their fear, and Arnold gives them someone they actually want to follow."
-Vicky Klaynman - VP, Group Creative Director, Klick Health

"We took the silliness seriously: cinematic lighting, an old-school home gym setup, and completely straight-faced absurdity. That tension let us have fun with Arnold's mythology while opening up a very real conversation about getting back to life."
-Kasey McLaughlin - VP, Group Creative Director, Klick Health

What changes when lived experience becomes more than inspiration for a health campaign, and actually shapes the idea itself?

For Glenn Batkin, the answer starts with looking closer.

As a Specialty Juror for NYF Health’s inaugural Human Lens: The Lived Experience category, Glenn brings more than 25 years of experience as an award-winning Creative Director and Art Director, along with a deeply personal connection to the realities of living with illness.

He’s looking for work where people with lived experience have a genuine hand in shaping the work, from the insight and strategy to the final ex*****on.
“The people living the reality often understand the real story in a way no brief ever can.”

Meet Glenn and discover what he’ll be looking for when he judges the work redefining what it means to create health communications with people, not simply about them. Read the full interview, link in bio.

🏆 2025 NYF Health Awards Grand Winner
Congratulations to Fearless Mortals and Tessa Films for “Let’s Change the Norm” for Smartphone Free Childhood US, named the Health & Wellness Grand Winner after first earning Gold in NYF’IN FUNNY.

The campaign used humor instead of fear or shame to spark a conversation about childhood smartphone use, generating more than 9 million organic views in one week.

“Our spot used empathy and humor to bring attention to their cause, and the overwhelming response shows that honest, simple, comedic storytelling has the power to attract attention and spark real change.”
— Tim Mason, Co-Founder & Chief Creative, Squirrel Soup

“We have long believed that humor can effectively tackle even serious subjects, and our PSA being recognized cemented that. Working with SFCxUS to highlight the harms of childhood smartphone access was certainly a career highlight.”
— Lisa Masseur, Co-Founder & Executive Producer, Squirrel Soup

What changes when the people at the heart of a health story have a real say in how that story is told?

For Walter T. Geer III, the answer is everything.

As a Specialty Juror for NYF Health’s inaugural Human Lens: The Lived Experience category, Walter brings a perspective shaped by years of health-focused creative work and his own personal experience with the healthcare system.

He’s looking for work where lived experience goes beyond consultation and actually changes the work: the strategy, the assumptions, the language, the ex*****on, or even the original idea.

“Health communication can’t just be clinically accurate, it has to be humanly accurate.”

Meet Walter and discover what he’ll be looking for when he judges the work redefining what it means to put people at the center of health storytelling.

For Clay MacGuire, SVP, Creative Director at 21GRAMS and a jury member for the NYF Health Awards’ Human Lens: The Lived Experience category, the work starts with a critical question:

“Was this shaped by real lived experience? In an era where human-led storytelling is more important than ever, we need a space to celebrate this work.”

In our latest NYF Health Awards feature, Clay shares why she said yes to judging this category and why creating space to celebrate human-led storytelling matters.
