TrashFest and DarkFest are returning for another year!

For eleven years, The Tank has hosted DarkFest - a week of shows that do not use conventional theatrical lighting in an effort to reexamine how we can make theater more sustainable. DarkFest celebrates innovative performance that utilizes self-sufficient and alternative energy sources.

In 2020, with the onset of the pandemic that forced our physical theater to close, we challenged that idea further with TrashFest.

It is often difficult to wrestle with the environmental impact that our daily lives and our work have - especially in theater, where so many resources are needed to develop sets, props, and costumes that are only used for a short amount of time. TrashFest centers work that not only produces no waste, by reusing materials discarded as garbage.

Tickets are live at TheTankNYC.org now!

Running till June 23rd!

Join the infamous Drag-Vamp, Midnight Coleslaw as she hosts a campy and terrifying evening of one-acts conjured up by Joey Merlo (On Set with Theda Bara) and director Nick Browne. An evening of q***r horror including a chair made of skin that turns into a humanoid third-wheel in a couple’s relationship, a father back from the dead to make sure his little (unbeknownst to him le***an) girl is thriving, and a party of disappearing guests. Exit the closet and enter (if you dare) the bizarre and titillating world of Midnight Coleslaw and her bag of One-Act tricks and treats. WARNING: You may laugh until you can’t catch your breath, you may be scared enough to p**s yourself, you may get up and dance at the end of the show like you’re a middle-aged white person at a matinee of Mamma Mia. In short: This show may turn you gay.
