Every Ashadhi, the Wari reminds us of the power of faith, surrender, and collective devotion, and Lakshmi Vallabha is a humble offering in that spirit.

Today, we begin another journey of Abhangawari—a journey that has brought us closer to the rich tradition of abhangs and the boundless devotion of the Warkaris for over a decade. There could not have been a more fitting moment to share this composition with you.

Some voices don’t just sing a ghazal… they become the ghazal. ✨ On the death anniversary of the legendary Mehdi Hassan Sahab, I offer my humble tribute through one of his immortal renditions — Ek Bas Tu Hi Nahin. Penned beautifully by Farhat Shehzad, this ghazal like most of his ghazals, is truly timeless!

Today, I offer this rendition on The Rahul Deshpande Collective as a tribute to the incomparable Padma Bhushan Purushottam Laxman Deshpande, our loving भाई काका, whose death anniversary it is today. Also to two more towering personalities of Indian music - Padma Shri Jitendra Abhisheki, who immortalized this composition in his unforgettable voice, and Padma Bhushan Mangesh Padgaonkar, who wrote the lyrics for it.
