Gallery Henoch

Gallery Henoch Founded in 1982, Gallery Henoch represents painters and sculptors who exemplify the best in contemporary American, European, and Asian Realism.

Gallery Henoch represents painters and sculptors who exemplify the best in contemporary American, European, and Asian Realism. The work exhibited comprises a wide diversity of styles and subject matter. These artists stand out for their imagination and distinctive personal approach. All reflect Gallery Henoch's commitment to an art based on individual, subjective style, and sensibility. The gallery beginnings trace back to 1966 when its first incarnation was known as Christopher Street Gallery in Greenwich Village. Its rise in reputation coincided with a move to Madison Avenue. By 1982, the gallery artists were garnering reviews from the press. In this year Gallery Henoch solidified its position as an elite venue championing representational painters and sensing a shift in the art scene to SoHo, it moved to Wooster St. With the emergence of Chelsea as the new art center of New York, the gallery moved to 25th Street in the Fall of 2000. It now resides in a large multilevel ground floor space. Gallery Henoch features 8 shows a year and attends premier art fairs.

Pacula’s paintings “embody the energy of the city,” while “hovering on the borderline between descriptive realism and pure abstraction,” transforming the metropolis into a distinctly psychological experience.
Gallery Henoch is pleased to present Global Impressions, a solo exhibition by Alexandra Pacula featuring eleven new paintings. The exhibition includes ten works from Pacula’s international city series. This series of paintings grew out of a collaboration with Maker’s Mark Whisky, shaped by a shared commitment to craftsmanship.

GLOBAL IMPRESSIONS

In Global Impressions, Alexandra Pacula turns her attention to the restless energy of cities around the world. Traveling from New York and Los Angeles to Seoul, Sydney, London, Paris, Dubai, Delhi, Mumbai, Singapore, and Melbourne, Pacula captures each city through light, movement, and atmosphere.

Rather than describing these places literally, her paintings recreate the sensation of moving through them—headlights streak, buildings dissolve, and familiar skylines become fields of color and illumination.

Global Impressions is on view at Gallery Henoch through September 12.
