BandurArts та Young Performers Foundation представляють Міжнародний Конкурс Бандуристів у Нью-Йорку, присвячений популяризації української музичної спадщини та підтримці нового покоління бандуристів.

🎼 До участі запрошуються:
• солісти та малі ансамблі (дует, тріо, квартет)
• учасники віком від 10 до 25 років
• виконавці всіх рівнів підготовки

🏆 На учасників чекають:
✨ професійне оцінювання від видатних музикантів та бандуристів;
✨ сертифікати, нагороди та спеціальні відзнаки;
✨ можливість представити себе на сцені у Нью Йорку!
✨ можливість виступити у Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall у січні 2027 року.

What an unforgettable evening of bandura and world music in Juneau, Alaska, on May 23, as part of our Strings Through Time concert 🎶

Our hearts are full of gratitude to the wonderful Juneau audience and community for the warm welcome, enthusiastic support, and genuine embrace of Ukrainian bandura and world music. Strings Through Time, organized by BandurArts, in partnership with Juneau Arts and Humanities Council and Juneau Community Chorus, became so much more than a concert—it was a meaningful and unique cultural exchange that brought the community together through music, history, storytelling, and shared connection.

This performance marked a special milestone, as the Ukrainian bandura 🇺🇦 was presented in Juneau for the very first time. We were deeply moved by the warmth, curiosity, and enthusiasm with which this treasured Ukrainian instrument was received. Through the sound of the bandura, we were honored to share Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage and create opportunities for connection, understanding, and dialogue across cultures.

The concert featured performances by Ostap Stakhiw, Соломія Стахів / Solomia Stahiv and the Juneau Community Chorus under the direction of Missouri Smyth 🎶 Together, we created a powerful musical journey that celebrated Ukrainian and world music and its universal language that unites us all through song.

We are especially grateful to our partners and supporters who helped bring Strings Through Time to life: the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council, Hearthside Books and Toys, Alaska Music One, V's Cellar Door, and Amalga Distillery.

Special thanks to everyone in Juneau for opening your hearts to this unique cultural event. We leave inspired by the connections we made, grateful for the friendships formed, and hopeful that this first introduction of the bandura to Juneau is only the beginning of many more musical exchanges to come.

Thank you Jensen-Olson Arboretum for your warm welcome!

Ukrainian musicians Ostrap and Solomia visited the Arboretum and treated us to an impromptu musical performance! They shared their talents and some details about the instrument they play, the Bandura.

Bandura Arts musicians were in Juneau for a special concert in conjunction with the JAHC last weekend. You can learn more about the Ukrainian instrument at bandurarts.org

A heartfelt thank you to Hearthside Books and Toys for so warmly hosting our Bandura pop-up performance ahead of Strings Through Time concert on May 23 in Juneau! 🎶

Ostap Stakhiw and Соломія Стахів / Solomia Stahiv shared a special preview of the Ukrainian bandura with the community at the Mendenhall Mall, offering audiences a chance to experience the beauty, history, and unique sound of this treasured instrument up close.

In collaboration with the Juneau Community Chorus, this performance became a meaningful cultural exchange through music, storytelling, and connection!

We are so grateful to everyone who stopped by to listen, learn about the bandura, and support live music in Juneau!
