Hallelujah by Baileysville Elementary & Middle School Students
Another inspiring story from West Virginia: "We live in a very rural area where jobs are scarce and parents do not have the financial means to purchase music instruments for their child to participate in school band. Fine arts have a way of positively reaching students who have musical talents and I feel that this grant has allowed more students to actively participate in band that would otherwise not have the opportunity.” Mrs. Christie Dameron, Principal at Baileysville Elementary and Middle School #savethemusic #musiceducation #musicsaves

"My music teacher when I went here used to say, ‘This isn’t my program. This is our program. I’m just taking care of it for the next person.’ When I came back, I had that same mentality. If anything, I’m just taking care of it for the next person. It’s bigger than any one of us."

It's no secret that The Black Keys have been inspired by the music of Mississippi. Far too many students in the Mississippi Delta Region — long celebrated for blues, rock and roll and gospel music — do not have the opportunity to reach their full potential through the power of making music. That's why we're teaming up with The Black Keys and Propeller to help give back to a place that has meant so much to the band.
Donate to Save The Music on Propeller and you’ll be entered to win a trip to The Black Keys show at The Lyric in Oxford, MS where you’ll get a chance to meet the band at the soundcheck party before the show, and experience some of their favorite spots in the Delta. Click the link for your chance to enter and to help students reach their full potential through the power of making music: www.propeller.la/theblackkeys
