This spring, in partnership with the New Jersey Symphony and the Music Performance Trust Fund, Save The Music helped bring live chamber performances to students across six Northern New Jersey Title I school districts — including East Orange, Jersey City, Passaic, Paterson, Elizabeth, and Orange.

Together, we reached more than 3,300 students in grades 2–8, introducing young people to the woodwind family, inspiring future band students, and creating unforgettable moments through live music performed by professional union musicians.

We’re grateful to the Music Performance Trust Fund and New Jersey Symphony for this partnership and their commitment to expanding access to music education experiences for students across New Jersey. 🎻✨

One teacher can change the course of a student’s life.

Years ago, Davonne Kee enrolled in a Save The Music-funded J Dilla Music Technology program at The High School of Climate Justice in New York City. There, he met Mr. Everton, a music educator who saw his potential, encouraged his creativity, and inspired him to pursue a future in music education himself.

This fall, Davonne will attend Berklee College of Music with plans to one day return to the classroom and create that same impact for the next generation.

One teacher. One student. A lifetime of ripple effects. ❤️

Help us continue supporting music educators who inspire students to build brighter futures.

This Teacher Appreciation Month, we’re celebrating educators like Ms. Motherway, who is introducing 2nd grade students in Queens to the joy of violin through Save The Music’s Strings program. 🎻❤️

From learning D and A string patterns during storytime to building confidence, her classroom is filled with creativity, curiosity, and joyful music-making.

Music teachers deserve support, resources, and opportunities to grow. This May, we’re raising funds to help invest in music educators nationwide and thanks to this incredible community, we’ve already reached our second milestone.

Help us unlock the next one and continue supporting music teachers and students across the country. 🎶 Link in bio.

Songwriter, producer, musician, and Save The Music professional development partner Nan MacMillan of We Make Noise is celebrating Teacher Appreciation Month with us. ❤️

We're highlighting the importance of educators who help students discover their creativity, confidence, and future through music. After being introduced to music production by her own teacher, Nan now supports music educators across New York City as they inspire the next generation of creators.

At a time when schools across the country are facing a growing shortage of music educators, supporting teachers matters more than ever. Help us continue investing in music educators through professional development, mentorship, and classroom support. Link in bio.

School concerts don’t just happen overnight. Behind every performance are weeks of preparation, encouragement, vulnerability, teamwork, and countless extra hours from dedicated music educators. 🎶

This spring concert season, we’re spotlighting Dr. Alice Tsui (), an extraordinary elementary music teacher at New Bridges Elementary School in New York City and recipient of the CMA Foundation Music Teachers of Excellence Award.

In our latest blog, Dr. Tsui shares how she helps students prepare for performances by building confidence, encouraging self-expression, and reminding students that music is about so much more than perfect notes.

“This opportunity provides our students the exposure for a well-rounded education.” — Dr. Chantel Perry, Principal of P.S. 39 in Jersey City, NJ

This Teacher Appreciation Month, we’re celebrating school leaders like Dr. Perry who champion music education and create new opportunities for students to thrive. After receiving Save The Music’s 2024 Core Band Grant, P.S. 39 has launched a budding instrumental music program under Dr. Perry’s leadership. For over 20 years, students at the school went without an instrumental music program, making this opportunity even more meaningful.

Detroit’s next generation of creators got a firsthand look at the future of music + sound.

Last week, Save The Music and Bose welcomed Southfield High School students to Bose Automotive HQ for a day of hands-on audio engineering workshops, speaker building, and career exploration — followed by a special classroom visit from Grammy-nominated producer and Southfield alum Karriem Riggins.
Together, we’re helping create real pathways into music technology and the creative industries for Detroit students.

As a longtime professional development partner of Save The Music, Mickey Smith Jr. has led inspiring workshops that empower music teachers with the tools, confidence, and motivation to better serve their students and communities.

At Save The Music, we know music educators are the backbone of our organization. Without certified music educators, classrooms are silenced, arts budgets are cut and students do not have access to making music.

This Teacher Appreciation Month, help us invest in the educators shaping the next generation of musicians, creators, and leaders. Your support helps provide music teachers with the professional development, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Give today and help keep the music alive! Link in bio.

When arts budgets get cut, music teachers are often the first to go — and students lose more than just music class.

Today, more than 25 states report shortages of qualified music educators, leaving millions of students without access to the benefits of music education.

That’s why Save The Music invests in teachers.
Each year, we provide more than 80 professional development workshops, programs, and scholarships to help music educators stay inspired, supported, and equipped for the classroom.

This Teacher Appreciation Month, we’re raising funds to support music teachers nationwide — and we’d love for you to be part of it.
